Second Board of Directors of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

On July 20, 2022, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has organized its Second Directive Council.

In the first place, the minutes of the First Board of Directors of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, which took place a month ago, have been approved.

Then, the official presentation was made at the Ministry of

Mr. Jose Eneme Oyono Obuan as Presidential Advisor on Public Health Matters, who today has participated for the first time in the Board of Directors.

The next issue on the table has been the analysis and revision of the protocols for the management of tuberculosis and HIV patients, whose diagnosis and treatment techniques were outdated, for which new protocols have been developed that are more in tune with the work being carried out by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

Likewise, the care coverage designed at the level of operationalization of the health districts, enhances diagnoses at the community level by bringing the health care services of these ailments, which were only in the two regional hospitals, closer to the provincial hospitals and the districts. In addition, in this same direction, it has been established to work on the reinforcement of promotional activities in these areas.

We remember that HIV and Tuberculosis are crucial diseases in our country, for this reason, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare made the decision to unify the management of health activities associated with HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis and other transmission diseases under a single direction so that they can be addressed jointly.

The fourth point that has been discussed revolves around the Operational Framework for Coordination of Partners in the Health Sector, established by the Ministry of Health for the correct implementation of the National Plan for Health Development (PNDS), which is the guide that the Government is following to make a correct diagnosis of health problems and how they can be gradually shoveled.

The strategy of the Sanitary Districts is the path that has been established for the implementation of the National Sanitary Development Plan (PNDS), and to begin with the execution of these activities it is necessary to have an Operational Programming Framework so that the resources of all the partners (the United Nations agencies, the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and other national private sector companies) are coordinated in activities that start directly within the action strategy and the objectives set out in the Operational Plan of the Sanitary Districts (PODS)

Lastly, the approval of the Evaluation File for health activities was discussed within the context of coordination with partners in the health sector, through which a quarterly and detailed internal evaluation of the programs of the Ministry of Health and Welfare will be carried out. Social where the level of execution of the activities coordinated together will be clearly seen. In summary, the Evaluation File is conceived as an efficient and effective way to measure whether the objectives set are being achieved and to control the investment of available resources.
