The constitution of the Medical College of Equatorial Guinea is getting closer and closer.
The Vice Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Mitoha Ondo’o Ayekaba, led an important virtual meeting, last Thursday, February 11, with the Spanish Collegiate Medical Organization (CMO) to work together on the officialization of the Medical Association of Guinea Equatorial.
At the meeting, the joint construction of a framework agreement between both parties was agreed and in accordance with the current situation in the country. The objective of the Medical College of Equatorial Guinea is to co-regulate the medical profession in our country and improve the scientific quality of Equatorial Guinean health professionals. The College will be the body that will represent doctors, acting as a safeguard of the fundamental values of the profession, which are deontology and the code of ethics.
“The Medical College of Equatorial Guinea is an urgent matter of capital importance since it will accredit Equatorial Guinea with international status in medical practice,” explained Vice Minister Mitoha Ondo’o.
“From the CMO we want to show our total disposition with the project and it is expected that we will have the framework agreement ready in a month,” said Dr. Tomás Cobo, Vice President of the Spanish College Medical Organization.
